Tips to Avoid Getting Hacked!

I own and operate my own website, and I have to admit that at times it is no picnic. My website is over two years old now. It is what I consider to be an on line market place, some would refer to it as an auction site; but it is so much more than that. I have also opened up my site to members from all over the world, which may have been a mistake. Whether it was or not I am not about to let some people ruin it for others. During the time my site has been in operation it has been hacked numerous times. My site has nothing to offer in the way of financial gain and yet these people continue to feel the need to hack my site. For the safety of my site I am not mentioning the name of it in this article. No reason to provide more incentive to someone else to hack it.
And that is the sad truth behind why people are hacking my site. No credit card information or other financial information is stored here. My site and its members use pay pal and other forms of on line payment services. Those independent companies handle the financial information. So, they are not coming onto my site for those purposes. It is hard to understand for me why anyone would want to hack a site with no means of financial gain. They could be hacking my site to try and steal someones identity, but I do not see why they would want to do this either. Members do not have to sign up using their real names. The only useful information stored on my site by members is their mailing address. What good does that do a hacker? You certainly cannot do much in the way of identity theft with just their mailing address. So, I don't think my site is being hacked for that reason either.

And, if you want to throw away or discard an item on the list, simply flick the thumbnail in order to remove it from the list.

Android Vs Apple iOS

The Android Vs Apple debate has been raging on for a long time now and it was never this big. For long Apple had been the reigning king of smartphones. Whether it be the simplistic yet beautiful hardware or their efficient software, Apple left most of its competition far behind. But, that was certainly pinching Google. So, as we all know, led to the evolution of Android. The mighty OS which has risen in popularity far surpassing many of the big fish and proving to be a strong competitor to Apple and has resulted in a virtual war of Android Vs Apple iOS.
Most people these days while buying a smartphone are confused between this Android Vs Apple scenario. I have seen people inside stores bugging the sales guys asking whether to go for Apple or Android and hence giving more flame to the Android Vs Apple. Most of you must have gone through the graphs that depict how Android is gaining its market share and Apple has nowhere to go but down. Well, it's all true folks. Recent official trends do suggest that although Apple is holding quite a big chunk of the market share but in a few years it could be quite the opposite. Most of the reasons that are cited for such rapid growth of Android are very obvious to say the least. Whether it be open source OS, a vast majority of app developers, cell-phone manufacturers providing free hardware and what not. Everything, in the raging war of apple vs android seems to be going in Android's way!

Alexander the Great

Alexander the Great, the moniker says it all really, doesn't it? On the day he was born in July 356 BCE, Herostratus burned down the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Herostratus did so for no better reason than to become forever known, hence the Ephesians ordered that his name never be mentioned, Strabo however marked it down and so we know of Herostratic fame. But only barely, more importantly, the night it burned, Alexander the Great came into the world. Mystics claimed that Artemis was too preoccupied with the birth to save her temple, while soothsayers predicted it as a sign that a force had entered the universe that would alter the world. That force was born in Pella, in the Kingdom of Macedon, the son of King Phillip II. It would appear that old Phillip bought into the whole divine providence confab regarding his son, when the young Alexander managed to tame the wild horse Bucephalus, he exclaimed that Macedonia was too small for the boy. Lofty praise, indeed. Riding the tide of this vaulted perspective, Phillip sought out the best tutor for Alexander, he didn't do too badly, landing none other than Aristotle, the greatest mind on the planet. Classes were conducted at the Temple of Nymphs at Mieza, sitting on stony seats in the shade, Aristotle emptied his head to the young Alexander. Aristotle remained the boy's mentor for three years until Phillip called for the boy to act as regent in his absence, whilst he departed to wage war against Byzantium. Alexander was just sixteen when he was left in charge of the Kingdom of Macedon, almost immediately the Thracian Maedi sensing an opportunity revolted against Macedonian rule. Alexander however, was to be no push over, he crushed the revolt, colonised the area and established a city, Alexandroupolis which he named after himself.

The Discovery of the Constellation Aries

Constellation has been a major part of life in the ancient times ever since humans started to observe the night sky. Pioneers of sea navigation always depend their perilous voyage by looking up to the sky to guide them as they fare along treacherous waters. Star gazers, priest and wise men of the ancient world use these groups of stars as their basis for their daily actions. Mythology tried to explain their existence and significance in terms of stories, legends and symbols.
In contemporary astronomy, constellation is defined as an area celestial spheres, characterized by accurate boundaries. Constellation could also be referred to as prominent visible heavenly bodies that seem to create a certain pattern in a specific area. In modern era, International Astronomical Union (IAU) parts the sky into eighty-eight (88) official constellations with exact borders; to define every direction or place in sky would be defined by a constellation.
The Eighty-eight Modern constellation
International Astronomical Union set the eighty-eight (88) official constellations. Majority of constellations are based upon the ancient Greek tradition passed down through the Middle Ages. It includes the famous 'Zodiac Signs' or the twelve (12) constellations which the sun passes and have had special cultural significance. The rest consist of constellations which were defined during the early modern era by astronomers who gazed and studied the skies in the southern hemisphere, which the Greeks did not see.

Ultrabook Vs Netbook: The Battle of Portable Mini Laptops

The need for portability and lightweight has become more and more important among technology users in the last couple of years. This desire has been met firstly by netbooks, then by tablets and now we have ultrabooks that should be perfect for people who like to travel or move a lot.
But after the ultrabooks' introduction, there were people who started asking if netbooks are actually still needed and wanted by enough people. In the following lines, we will quickly compare ultrabooks and netbooks and we will try to find reasons for buying or passing one or the other.
So read the rest of our ultrabook vs netbook post to see which of these two types of computers fit best in different situations.
Why get an ultrabook
If you are thinking of buying a netbook or ultrabook at the moment, you probably have come up with a lot of reasons for going with the former. Firstly, it is pretty clear that in terms of performance netbooks don't stand a chance in front of snappy ultrabooks.
Ultrabooks come with Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and 2 or 4 GB of RAM, as well as SSDs, while netbooks feature lower end Atom or AMD Fusion chipsets with 512 MB or 1 GB of memory and regular hard drives.
Aside from that, while they sport bigger displays, ultrabooks are pretty much at least as light and portable as mini laptops. They are also consistently thinner and the screens are not only larger, but better in terms of resolution and image quality as well.

God of War 3

This is the forthcoming installment of the God of War series of games. The iteration is currently being developed solely for the Playstation 3 console as the project was announced on E3 2008. With the protagonist, Kratos still hungers revenge from the stories in the series. In which he wants to be rid of the nightmares that have plagued him since he had been tricked into murdering his own family. The last iteration ended with a cliffhanger. If you know how God of War 2 ended, you would usually know what lies ahead in the upcoming game.
Kratos has been seen on the trailer climbing Mount Olympus along with many titans to his aid. As hostile as Kratos' attitude, he is seeking for a way to even the score. The games' Director Stig Asmussen in which he worked closely since the first game has stated its notable new features.
As the game is purposely being made to show the prowess of the Playstation 3, its other focus is to revamp the story, mayhem, scale, eye-candy, and gameplay. While the ambitions of a game still in development might be dubious but the past series is synonymous with quality and always been a triple A title ever since.
In the trailer, Kratos has been seen running in the forest and racing along with skeletal warriors. In his moves are all reminiscent in the past games in God of War. With the added probability that the new moves he shown on the trailer might be used in real gameplay.

Max Payne 3

PREFACE
Millions of fans of Max Payne eagerly waiting for Max Payne 3 which was announced to be released in late 2009. Fans had to be patient as release was delayed to 2010 by the developer Rockstar Vancouver, alongside several other Take-Two Interactive franchises in order to "benefit from having more development time." Fans were little disappointed when in June 2010, the game was again pushed back to 2011. Now it is expected to be released before October 2011. Hope this time it will be finally the end of long wait. The ESRB rating of the game is still pending.
Max Payne 3 will be published by Rockstar Games for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is still a suspense as everything is kept hidden yet. Just few screen-shots were released along with few words introduction about new chapter of Max's life, by the developers.
NEW CHAPTER OF MAX'S LIFE
Rockstar's Sam Houser says that they are introducing a new chapter of Max's life in Max Payne 3. Max is appearing with few physical changes. He's burlier, with a beard and shaved head. The long coat and black getup is not taken this time from the previous games but Max appearing in a stained white sleeveless shirt and cargo pants.
James McCaffrey's voice is not used by Rockstar, saying it would not really fit considering how much Max has aged. The talent used is not a big recognizable name, but Rockstar is confident, saying it appropriate, and the studio has given Max plenty of lines of internal dialogue in the style of the previous games.
In addition to the different look, Max will be stepping into a much different setting. He is no more in the dark streets, warehouses, and construction yards of New York, but in Sao Paulo, as he moved out to the Brazilian metropolis to escape from his previous life. Here Payne is working in the private security sector for a wealthy local family.

Why I *Probably* Won't Be Playing Diablo III

It's been nearly twelve years since I first played Diablo II and longer still since I first played the classic that is the original Diablo. Since then, I've been chomping at the bit for more. The first Diablo still ranks as one of my favorite games of all time. Although, Diablo II was damn good it still fell short of the masterpiece that was the first installment of Diablo. Even with the innovations and changes it introduced to the franchise and while it was still a great game, it never captured the atmosphere and memorable moments the way Diablo had.
This made the announcement of Diablo III, a sequel twelve years in the making, not only exciting but very intriguing. I could only fathom what Blizzard had in store for Diablo III after all these years; would it more closely resemble Diablo II with its wide open environments or would the series return to its roots and drag you under ground to the very pits of hell?
Prior to the first rumors about Diablo III surfacing, I admittedly hadn't thought all that much about Diablo for many years. It seems as though neither had Blizzard, considering they seemed to be preoccupied with their money tree, World of Warcraft. Although they did get around to finally releasing Starcraft II, albeit, it too took 12 years to complete. That's not to say that it wasn't well worth the wait.
When the first tidbits about Diablo III were released I was excited, to say the least. Memories of exploring catacombs, casting firewalls, running from The Butcher and getting ripped off by Wart in the town of Tristram all came flooding back. I heard rumblings of a private Beta and before I knew it the Beta had been made public and I completely missed the opportunity to play it, of no fault but my own I must admit. Still I was consumed with excitement as Diablo III's release date grew closer.

Quickstart Guide To Getting Started With The Google Plus Social Network

The Google Plus social network is now open for business... but how do network marketing and business owners take advantage of this new social media platform that some say will rival Facebook?
After being an invitation-only site for many months, on September 22, 2011, the Google Plus social network became open to the general public.
Google Plus is probably the one and only site that can even attempt to put a dent in the behemoth that is Facebook's social network. Posting record numbers, Google+ is up to an estimated 50 million users in just 3 months since offering the service...it took Facebook 3 years to get to that point! So should network marketers be paying attention, ABSOLUTELY!
Also, don't forget the 70% web browsers come to Google first as it's the most popular search engine and the largest source of traffic for many websites.
So How Do Network Marketers Get Started With Google Plus
1. Set Up Your Personal Profile
Unlike Facebook, Google+ does not yet support businesses or organizations. So as an individual business owner, you must begin to connect with influencers and leaders in your niche and make connections with people you already know.

Is The iPhone Boom A Business Boon?

We all know how the iPhone frenzy has grabbed popular imagination since it was first announced in Jan 2007. With its cool feature set, slick appearance, powerful computing capabilities, beautiful display and intuitive touch navigation, this poster boy of the mobile generation has captured the imagination of gizmo freaks and tech phobics alike. To get some measure of iPhone's success, one only needs refer to Tim Cook's (Apple's COO) recent statement at a conference - he said that the company had "really good confidence" the company would hit 10 million iPhones sold by the end of 2008.

According to a research from IDC, 70 percent of those polled who own, or plan to purchase an iPhone in the next year, consider it to be for both personal and business use.

Considering the vast proliferation of iPhones in such a short span, it is natural that all those who own a iPhone would want to extend its use to business as well. And it is no joy carrying around a Blackberry and iPhone in either pocket. All that does is to exert extra downward pressure on the belt. It is no wonder then, that iPhone's usability in a business context is a raging debate nowadays. That is still a secondary question, because the fact remains that present and future end users of iPhone see is as something they want to use for business.

The Hitler Pact - A Blood Oath

Brothers Alexander Adolph, Louis and Brian William live in a quiet working- class suburb in Long Island ,New York. They are all native New Yorkers. None have ever married or had children. Two of them have their own landscaping business and one is a social worker. Their brother Howard died in an auto accident. It has been reported that these brothers have lived a sad life by most standards. Living in seclusion, loneliness and fear. An existence with no vision or concept of what the American dream could or should mean to them. The dream of marriage, family children, grandchildren. The hope and dreams that we all grab hold of. The hope that our children will have better lives than we have. The hopes that our name and bloodline will be carried well into the future long after we are dust. Hopes not denied any death, disease or inability to enjoy the anticipation of the future. Hopes these boys have apparently denied themselves with purpose and resolve.
Why is this story any different or any more important than the struggles others living in the same neighborhood the same street, their next door neighbors? What has eliminated the hopes of the future of family and the continuation of family name to be carried proudly into future? Two words that are vilified world-wide have apparently crushed this middle class America family. Those words are "Adolph Hitler".

The World of Movie Distribution Is a Tough Place

The world of movie distribution is a tough place. After fighting and sweating to finish a movie you're mentally and physically exhausted.
You just want to take a break and rest, but you can't because finishing a movie is only half the battle. It's time to enter the world of movie distribution.
Movie distribution is a tough place for filmmakers new to the grind. It's hard to switch off the creative mind to deal with the business side of selling movies.
What I've learned the hard way is the movie distribution really starts with promoting and marketing a movie.
Social media is an inexpensive way to get the word out about your movie and create a killer viral buzz online.
It's cool to go the film festival route to get your movie seen by viewers and potential film buyers, but over the years from talking to other filmmakers there is a common feeling that the film festival scene is too crowded now.
U.K. filmmaker Wayne Daniells from LiarDice Films told me his last trip to The Cannes International Film Festival was a ruthless feeding frenzy.
There were a glut of movies and producers were fighting to get the attention of movie distributors.
All in all Wayne expressed that it was a waste of time and money pitching his film there. I've heard the same opinion from other filmmakers that are frustrated with the film festival scene and no longer see it as a good way to secure movie distribution.

My Most Anticipated Movies of 2011

As we kick off a new year in cinema, I thought I'd take time to look ahead at the films we'll be hit with over the course of the year. In this article, I'll be going over what my 15 most anticipated movies are for the year. Now it should be noted, these aren't the movies that I feel will be the best of 2011 necessarily. Rather, they're the ones that, as of the time of this writing, I am anticipating the most. So without further ado, here are my most anticipated movies of 2011.
1. Sucker Punch
Director: Zack Snyder
Writer: Zack Snyder and Steve Shibuya
Stars: Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens and Abbie Cornish
Release Date: March 25, 2011
Genre: Action Fantasy Thriller
What is it: A young girl is institutionalized by her wicked stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility.
Why it should be good: Really hot and badass chicks wearing schoolgirl outfits and other skimpy clothes, with swords and guns, coupled with Snyder's awesome visual flair? Yea, definitely count me in. The trailer for this thing just looks completely awesome. From the style to the action, even the story (while seeming a bit out there) seems cool. I'm beginning to thoroughly enjoy Snyder's work. If The Adjustment Bureau could be this year's new Inception due to its mindfuck story, then Sucker Punch could absolutely be this year's Inception meets The Dark Knight meets 300 meets Inglorious Basterds due to it's style and epic adventure, yet dark tone with alternate realities. This movie just oozes style and badass-ness and I really can't wait for what is sure to be an absolutely entertaining, epic adventure.
Why it could suck: Snyder can be a bit off his mark sometimes. While Watchmen was enjoyable, it did get a bit boring. And Legend of the Guardians is said to suffer from some pacing issues as well and has drawn mixed reviews from critics. Though to be fair to Snyder, he wrote neither of those movies, but is responsible for the writing (or at least screenplay) of the badass 300.
2. Sherlock Holmes 2
Director: Guy Ritchie
Writer: Kieran and Michele Mulroney
Stars: Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Noomi Rapace and Stephen Fry
Release Date: December 16, 2011
Genre: Action Mystery
What is it: Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick Dr. Watson join forces to outwit and bring down their fiercest adversary, Professor Moriarty.
Why it should be good: I'm a big Sherlock Holmes fan. The Doyle stories still stand as my favorite books today. I love Sherlock. He's such a badass. And finally, a movie seems to have captured that pretty well. The first was one of the better portrayals of Sherlock I had seen. Rather than being portrayed as a snooty, 'proper' and sophisticated Englishman, he was shown with all the rough edges that Doyle wrote him with. While the movie was indeed Hollywood-ized beyond anything you'd find in the books, it was a fun adventure and quite an enjoyable movie. Guy Ritchie is a very good filmmaker as well. For these reasons, and my love for Sherlock, I'm very much eager to see how Part 2 turns out, especially as they go head-to-head with Moriarty. Also, I'm eager to see how well Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, etc) does in her Hollywood debut.
Why it could suck: New writers. The original writers from the first aren't coming back instead Kieran and Michele Mulroney are taking over the job. So let's see how they handle it. Relatively new to writing, the two previously wrote Paper Man which didn't fair so well with critics.
3. Paranormal Activity 3
Director: Tod Williams
Writer: Christopher B. Landon and Michael R. Perry; characters by Oren Peli
Stars: Katie Featherston
Release Date: October 21, 2011
Genre: Horror
What is it: Well, we have no idea what this one is going to be about as nothing has been given. However, the first movie followed a couple that were being haunted by an evil spirit who possessed Katie. The sequel (which was more of a prequel) followed Katie's sister's family as that same spirit haunts them and their baby. This all culminates to the two stories converging at the end of Part 2 where it gets to the point where Part 1 ends and we see what happens after the whole event. Undoubtedly, Part 3 is set to pick up where Part 2 and 1 left off. What happens from there? Your guess is as good as mine.

Explosive Chemicals - How Dangerous are They?

Enter at your own risk! The flammable hazard signs with their bright red flame graphic and danger wordings say it all. You are now entering a restricted area...

Many people have a natural fear of chemicals that catch fire easily. In fact, I know of some people who became so nervous whenever they have to come into the chemical areas that they lost their concentration and fumble about with their activities, visibly shaken. It is as if the whole place is going to explode in their faces anytime.

However, if this natural fear is allowed to paralyze us, there will not be any oil refinery, oil wells or even petrol stations anywhere. Industrial processes will literarily grind to a halt. People will be so afraid to handle these chemicals in their work.

This article tries to eliminate this natural fear by explaining the properties of flammable chemicals so that people will treat flammable chemicals with respect but not with fear.

Making Extra Income - Listen to Experience

A wise man told me many years ago that the man swinging the hammer is not the one who gets rich. Being young and impressionable I nodded my head in agreement but I had no idea what this meant. I thought it had something to do with getting a job in an office versus working in the trades. I realized later in life that it had more to do with leverage, staying out of debt and having many people or business ventures working for you generating income rather than going it alone.
I learned along the way you have to listen to people who have actual money making experience to be able to forge you own way. These types of people are usually right under your nose and you unknowingly meet them just about every day. Search the internet and you will find many people who have good sound business credentials.
I used to think that people who drove the high end cars must make a lot of money. I figured out that in most cases these people are leasing these cars and just look rich. Many of the wealthy people I know drive very practical cars and you would never know they are worth millions. They did not get rich by wasting money on expensive cars.
Same is true for big houses, eating at expensive restaurants and buying designer clothes. The people who have the wealth did not indulge on these items when they were acquiring their wealth. There is a time and place for all of these fine things after you have created or you are well on your way to growing that extra wealth.

eShop - Virtual Online Shops

As increasingly many people venture into online shopping, so does the number of eshops. Eshops online or better defined as virtual store is a place where it offers people the service of buying things through the Internet. All you need to do is get connected to the Internet, start surfing for eshops and start shopping! After selecting items and adding it to your shopping cart, you would need to enter your credit card information. There are many valid concerns of fraud, thus, it would be wise to evaluate the authenticity of the website before proceeding and it is always advisable to buy items from sellers who have good reviews from other consumers.

Dell Computer Dominates the Marketplace

About three out of five households in America have computers today, compared with almost no one having them just 25 years ago. And if you don't have a computer at home, you probably have access to one at work, at school, or at the public library. Computers are everywhere! And it's Dell Computers that has more places than anywhere else.

There is probably a Dell computer store near you; almost every electronics store that sells computers sells Dells. Finding a Dell computer for sale on the Internet is as easy as typing a few words. You can even find Dell computer coupons with a little bit of luck and know-how. (Not that you need them: Dell computers are among the most inexpensive on the market.)

The Dell computer corporation, headquartered in Round Rock, Texas, offers everything from servers to laptops, printers to workstations, all with round-the-clock customer service, too. Fortune magazine called Dell America's "most admired" company.

If you're in the market for a new computer, you can visit a retailer that sells Dell computers (or even Dell refurbished computers), or you can visit Dell directly on the Internet. The company's Web site will walk you through the process of choosing the Dell desktop computer or a notebook computer that will work best for you.

Let's talk about the successor of the Lumia 800. The Lumia 900 features the same 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It comes packed with 512MB worth of RAM and runs on Windows Phone 7. We all know how snappy the Snapdragon as a processor, this alone proves that the successor of the Nokia Lumia 800 is also fast and powerful.
This handset beats its predecessor when it comes to its display. The Lumia 900 comes in with a whopping and gorgeous 4.3" AMOLED screen. Compared to the Lumia 800's 3.7" screen this is more delectable to one's picky palette. The two handsets share the same 800 x 480 pixel resolution.
If you loved your Lumia 800, then I am sure that you will love this handset more. With its increased size and the addition of Windows Phone 7, this is capable of giving you crisp and exciting views.
If you look closely at the Nokia Lumia 900, you will notice that it is quite identical to its predecessor. The only major difference is that it is quite bigger. The phone's curved polycarbonate body will give you that certain heft but without giving you that heavy feeling. Well, at 5.6 ounces it is not that heavy at all.

The Importance of Regular Exercise

Exercise regularly. We often find ourselves saying this very phrase, as if making mental notes of what we should do. However, regardless of how many times that we make this mental note, many of us fail to put it into action.
We choose to relax in front of the TV because it demands no effort, instead of engaging in some kind of training. We then convince ourselves into thinking that there will be better times to engage in physical activities, like tomorrow. But tomorrow never comes, and we fail to realise there is no better day than today.
The sooner you start exercising regularly, the easier it will become, and the better you will feel. Once you start your heart begins to beat faster and your metabolic rate will increase. This will mean you will start to burn fat, and your body will consume some of those extra calories. You will then start to lose a few pounds of fat that the body has had to carry around every day, which in turn will give you more energy. You will also produce endorphins when you exercise. These are your feel good hormones, helping you to become happier and suffer less stress-related problems.

Internet Shopping is Beneficial For Both Seller and Buyer

Internet shopping is bigger than ever. You can find anything and everything for sale online it is the latest trend dreamed up by the supermarket giants. Aimed at the rich, busy, immobile, elderly or simply lazy, all you have to do is switch on your computer and browse your way around a supermarket, before, hey presto, the goods are on your doorstep.
Internet shopping is also referred to as online shopping or web shopping. Like the regular real-life shopping experience, online shopping or web shopping is the process of buying and selling conducted over the web. Internet shopping is quickly becoming the Web-Mart of convenience and savings and is a big time-saver.
Online shopping also offers safe and secure purchases, and this is clearly shown by the tremendous growth of the sales online.
If consumers are not convinced that their credit card information is processed securely then they will not shop online. E-commerce encourages growth in existing as well as new businesses because of lower overhead costs, the huge consumer base and the freedom of information flow. However the online revolution has created a large amount of competition for consumers between businesses despite the fact that the public does not yet have total confidence in the e-commerce market.

How Astrologers Think

Times have changed! How do astrologers think today? Not much differently than they've always thought. But they could be better understood. Learn more ....

Russians think of their country as Aquarius ruled, according to Johnson's "Russia List". Johnson's List is a daily e-mail newsletter with information and analysis about contemporary Russia from a wide range of sources. Maybe this is why they are so open to astrology. Aquarius is also the ruling sign for astrologers.

I was reading about some predictions Russian astrologers were making for the year 2002 in an article written at that time by Kevin O'Flynn for Johnson's "Russia List" entitled "Stars Aren't Smiling Down on 2002".

O'Flynn, who quotes Russian astrologers like Yury Longo, Sergei Bezborodny and Alexander Zarayev, doesn't seem to put much store in astrological predictions himself but he notes that "even several current and former Russian and U.S. leaders and their wives have shown an interest in astrological predictions". I don't know what Russian leaders he's referring to but it is thought that President and Mrs. Reagan consulted astrologers like Sydney Omar, Jeanne Dixon and Joan Quigley.

The comment that caught my attention in the article, however, was this:

"Perhaps the most pessimistic of the astrologers doing the rounds in the Russian media was Alexander Zarayev. He predicted in "Argumenty i Fakty" that Russia would see a bumpy ride between February 28 and March 12 and an even worse time after July 27, with problems in the Middle East and other hot spots. It will be similar to the [ruble] default in 1998," said Zarayev, who, like many astrologers, was short on details [emphasis mine].

Astrology : A Science or Superstition?

Human beings have always been curious to know their future. Whenever someone is in difficulty and cannot easily come out of it, he wants to know whether the days of his misery will come to an end at all. And if yes, then when? When one invests a great deal of time, effort or money into some project, it is natural to wonder whether that investment will bear some fruit. There have always been people around who have successfully predicted future events. Their methods have been different - some people can simply look into the future, some use tarot cards, some draw up an astrological chart which we call horoscopes, some read the lines in the palms of people. One cannot deny that future has been accurately predicted many a times and by many a people. Each successful prediction proves that it is indeed possible to correctly predict future.
In the ancient times, astrologers were held to be in great esteem by the people. There was no difference between astronomers and astrologers. In fact, astronomy and Astrology were not considered to be two different subjects. Many will be surprised to know that most of the renowned scientists of the past, including Sir Isaac Newton, were astrologers too. In ancient India Astrology was known as "Jyotish Shastra" which included predictive Astrology as well as what we know as astronomy. Needless to say that the astrologers of that era were all great mathematicians too. An accomplished astrologer was called "Trikal-darshee" : one who could see past, present and future. It would perhaps not be an exaggeration to say that Astrology was considered to be the foremost branch of science.
Slowly over a period of time this subject came into disrepute.
How Astrology lost its exalted status?

Hackers and Social Engineering Techniques

Do you know what social engineering is? Social engineering is the act of manipulating people into doing actions or exposing confidential information. It's trickery or deception to gather information, fraud, or computer system access where in the hacker never comes face-to-face with the victim. Here are some of the social engineering techniques:
The hacker steals passwords through guessing the victim's password reminder question with the help of gathered information from his or her social networking profile. One incident was when Hacker Roll was able to guess the password and broke into an e-mail account of Twitter's administrative assistant using the Google's password reset feature. After this, Hacker Roll was able to forward hundreds of pages of internal Twitter documents to different websites including TechCrunch which has published some and referred to others. Another college student also broke into Gov. Sarah Palin's Yahoo e-mail account using Yahoo's password reset questions.

Social Engineering and the Unseen Enemy

Security is only ever as strong as its weakest link, and the majority of the time, an organisation's users become the weakest point. No matter how much money is invested in security, installing firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, complex remote access systems, security guards, physical access passes or a myriad of other solutions that combine to form strong layered security, if users are not educated in the basic principles of security, it is all pointless.

One of the greatest risks to an organisation is the possibility that one of it's users could be manipulated or deceived into performing some action or disclosing confidential information to someone outside the business. Information Security terminology defines this manipulation as "social engineering". While the term social engineering is a fairly new term, this type of attack is as old as the human race itself. Two of the most famous social engineering attacks are those of the story of the wooden horse of Troy from Homer's "The Odyssey", and dating even further back to the start of the Bible with Adam and Eve and the Devil's manipulation of Eve to persuade her to take a bite from the apple in the Garden of Eden.

Coming Up With a Video Game Concept

game consoles 300x250 game consolesIn game design school, part of what I learned was not only to design an original game, but that you can gain inspiration from other sources.
Many of today's video games are loosely based on feature films. Franchises such as the Lord of the Rings and the James Bond films have had many successful games based on them over the years, which has added to their popularity and drawn in new generations of fans. But, if you plan on attending a game design school, you may want to take a stab at creating something original.
It's hard to come up with original ideas these days as many video games are based on films, television shows and vice versa. If you're starting out in game design school, you may want to think of something original. Not all games have to be fantasies with aliens exploding and guns blazing, as seems to be the norm. You may want to think of something that might be challenging and that can have some sort of benefit to it.
While many game design schools want to see originality, you can most likely utilize themes and ideas from existing games as inspiration and expand upon them. For instance, create a new persona and if that character has specific traits, maybe give them different ones that are unique. If a certain character can fly, why not make him walk through walls, or even better: breathe underwater, if he's human?

Squish Your SEO Competition Like a Bug

Want to squish your SEO competitors online like a bug and take the lion's share of the traffic? Here are some helpful strategies:
Know Who You're Competing Against
Do some competitive analysis to see who is at the top of the search engine results pages for the words and phrases you want your website to rank for. Analyse their SEO strategy, too, so that you know what you are up against. Some companies who are new to SEO find that although they have competition, often their competition hasn't got a solid SEO strategy and it might not be too arduous of a task to accomplish. Don't underestimate competitors. Know who you're up against, what strategies they're employing to rank well, and structure your own SEO strategy in a way that will help you compete. If they're not on top of SEO on a constant basis, it might not take too much to unseat them.
Pick the Right Keywords
A few keyword phrases in your industry probably account for a large percentage of traffic received. If you can rank for them, it could make a really positive difference to your online marketing success. Keyword optimisation is not just about getting ranked; it's about getting sales, too. Pick 'buying' keywords so that every click has a greater chance of actually counting. Extensive keyword research will make a big difference.

Attitude is Everything

Have you heard the saying, "Attitude Is Everything"? While attitude might not really be "everything", it is the single most significant determining factor of success in many situations. Here's how it works:
Change your attitude and you automatically change:
1. your perspective
2. the way you interpret things
3. the decisions you make
4. the actions you take
5. the results you get
Changing your attitude can get you there more quickly, but it can also get you there in style, enjoying the ride more fully. This ShortCut is for everyone, because even if you have a great attitude already, it could always be better. It doesn't matter if you have a little goal or a massive dream, a small annoyance or a huge problem, shifting your attitude will help, and it might just radically transform your situation.
People tend to think of an attitude as being simply positive or negative. However, there are infinite possibilities such as: warm, friendly, confident, determined, unstoppable, silly, playful, easy-going, outrageous, peaceful, open-minded, compassionate, optimistic, and all of their negative counterparts. You can ultimately become very creative and experiment with different attitudes for different situations, which will lead you to being more powerful and effective.
Here's the problem. We often think it's hard or impossible to change our attitudes, so we don't try. The truth is that it's easy to change your attitude, if you know how.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Deals Announced With Price And Release Date

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the end result of months of speculation and rumours surrounding the next Google Nexus Android phone, initially thought to be called the Samsung or Google Nexus Prime the new Galaxy Nexus has now had deals, prices and a release date announced at a recent launch event.
This new Samsung Galaxy handset is to be the first in the world to offer the latest Android 4.0 operating system which is also known as Ice Cream Sandwich and is a direct upgrade to the previous Google Nexus S model which was also manufactured by Samsung.
UK retailers have already released details of their Samsung Galaxy Nexus deals which show that this new device is not going to be the most affordable at launch, a free phone is likely to set back consumers a whopping £46 per month in line rental or for a £30 upfront cost this can be connected to the next tariff down at £41 per month.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus release date has been set for November which means that consumers will for the first time be able to experience what exactly Google has been working on with its new Android update.
The specifications are not far off from the current best-selling Samsung Galaxy S2 with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM on board, the camera is a 5.0 mega pixel unit with an LED flash and is capable of recording 1080p full HD video clips the same as the S2 and the recent iPhone 4S.

Samsung Galaxy S3 (S III) Benchmarked As Samsung Galaxy GT-I9300

http://software2tech.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Samsung-Galaxy-S3_thumb.jpgA new set of results has just been published after testing of a new Samsung Galaxy model late last month, noted as the Galaxy GT-I9300 which many believe is the model number of the new Samsung Galaxy S3 (S III).
The results of these recent tests through GLBenchmark's suite show a different screen resolution to that of the reported full HD 1080p expected on the new Galaxy S3, instead they show a 1196 x 720 pixel display which is exactly the same as the current Samsung Galaxy Nexus model.
Believed to have been performed by one of Samsung's own employees, the tests also reveal that the processor was listed as 'maxing-out' at 1.4GHz rather than the expected 1.5GHz rumoured to be powering the Galaxy S3, crucially though, there was no information into the number of cores although most now believe that it will no doubt be a quad-core chip.
This is mostly down to the fact that many rival manufacturers are already shipping new smart phone models with quad-core technology, these include the new HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD models, what was revealed is the Samsung GT-I9300 tested was running on a Samsung Exynos 4 processing chip which could be either the dual-core Exynos 4212 or most likely the quad-core Exynos 4414.

Napoleonic France

The French Style of Government
The French government has drastically changed over the course of 15 years. Prior to Napoleon's rule, the French government was in a state of disarray. They suffered from a declining economy and a sudden drought of resources. At that time, France was still under the control of the Directory. However, right before the turn of the 1800's, Napoleon launched a coup to seize power. With the aid of five directors and his brother Lucien, Napoleon overthrew the Directory at the age of 30. The young tactician took advantage of political and financial disorders of the country at that time, which severely weakened the Directory. At the same time, it also helped that France had just lost to Italy and Germany.
Once in power, Napoleon established the Consulate Regime. Essentially, this act established a dictatorship, which placed Napoleon as first consul for the span of 10 years. In his new position, the government promised to provide new laws and order to the people, in an effort to revitalize the state of the nation. In 1801, the government launched a concordat that returned the church to its civil status. While it declared Catholicism the main religion of the French, it forced the clergy to swear loyalty to Napoleon. Essentially, this act solidified the power of the government, as it was designed in favour of the state. Despite his monumental achievements, Napoleon still desired more power. In 1802, a plebiscite made Napoleon consul for life. Yet Napoleon's bid for absolute power would not end. In 1804, he dubbed himself Emperor of France, with complete control over the newly centralized government.
At this point, Napoleon sought to expand his empire and the influence of the French government. He accomplished this by assigning his relatives and sibling as the rulers of lands he conquered. His actions gave way to the Napoleonic Administration, which strived to preserve his power. In order to maintain his status as an all-powerful individual, the use of propaganda was in order. Napoleon used secret agents, arbitrary arrests, and executions to control the public opinion. He gained control over the press, which allowed him to completely control the media. The government exerted its power to relinquish freedom of speech and political liberty from the people. In doing so, anarchy would be avoided. Yet, despite this negative influence, the administration also brought about new reforms. The government provided an orderly and efficient system for the people to follow. At this point, a more centralized government was emphasized. Napoleon appointed prefects to administer major governing departments. Combined, this new system centralized Government authority in Paris. These representative institutions created the illusion of a democracy, when in truth, the people had no real power.
One of the greatest reforms brought about by the Government was the Napoleonic Code. This set of rules attempted to unify the legal system. Napoleon himself appointed a council of legal experts to create a new civil code, in a bid to pacify the public outbursts that plagued France for so long. This code brought equality to the citizens before the law. Employment would be based on ability rather than birth, while people were free to pursue the career of their choice. Moreover, citizens were granted religious freedom. In a way, the government attempted to empower the people, while still preserving their unchallenged authority and power.
